About

Welcome!

Passeggiare is a collection of writing about places, told through small moments.

Not the landmarks or the highlights, but the details that tend to stay with you. A morning walk at sunrise. An old plate on a restaurant table. The feeling of a place before you can quite explain it.

Passeggiare started as a way of slowing things down. Of paying attention. Of noticing what sits in plain sight but is often overlooked.

Most pieces move through food, streets and everyday life, yet they’re not really about those things. They are about how places feel and what lingers as a memory even after you’ve left.

A note on me

I am Joel, originally from Sheffield, United Kingdom, and during the early part of 2026 I am spending time travelling and writing.

I’ve spent much of my working life in a traditional role, but Passeggiare is where I am creating space to explore something different and find a slower way of moving through places. A more considered way of writing about them.

Passeggiare is my outlet where I am trying to make sense of that.

If you’d like to follow along you can subscribe below to new pieces, as they’re published.

Elsewhere

Occasionally, I write beyond Passeggiare.
